At Nurse Honor Guard California Central Coast Monterey Bay, we are dedicated to recognizing the invaluable contributions of nurses through our volunteer service. Nursing is a calling and a way of life. It is appropriate that we honor colleagues, not only during their career, but also at the end of life's journey. We service Monterey, Santa Cruz, San Benito and San Luis Obispo counties. 

Our Mission 

Nurse Honor Guard Central Coast Monterey Bay is here to provide homage and offer comfort to families of fallen nurses who gave compassion and care to their community. Our mission is to honor their legacy with dignity,

respect and appreciation.

 

The Nightingale Tribute

A free Nightingale tribute is given to any Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse for their years of service and is presented during the nurse's funeral or memorial service.

 

Release of Duty

The ceremonial tribute lasts about five minutes. The service is similar to a military tribute and officially releases the nurse from duty. We recognize the skills and gift of nursing then provide the Nightingale Lamp to the family or friends after

Release of Duty.

What is the Nurse Honor Guard?

The Nurse Honor Guard is a group of nurses who volunteer our time to provide a last tribute to a RN, LVN or NP on their final journey. We honor the departed with a special ceremony during their funeral or memorial service. The free tribute is similar to that of law enforcement and military honor services.
